CHERRYFIELD – Herbert Walter Tucker, 95, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Ellsworth. He was born Dec. 17, 1917, in Cherryfield, the son of Herbert G. and Eva Grace Tucker.
He graduated from Cherryfield Academy, class of 1935. He attended Coburn Classical Institute and the University of Maine. He owned and operated H. G. Tucker & Son for many years and was active in town activities. Walter loved the Maine woods and the wild west.
He was predeceased by his former wife, and mother of his children, Beatrice Gower Adams; daughter, Barbara Tucker Kindelan; and also his second wife, Onalee Randall. He is survived by daughter, Linda Tucker Burnham of Brunswick; two grandchildren, Kathryn Burnham and Kent Burnham; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends are welcome to visit with the family 1-4 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at his home, 47 Cottage St., Milbridge. Private interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Cherryfield.
