BANGOR – Richard P. Wiley, 74, died after a courageous battle with cancer, April 14, 2013, with his loving family by his side. Richard was born Dec. 1, 1938, son of Edwin Sr. and Marion (Gott) Wiley.
Richard was self-employed most of his career operating a used car lot and then a roofing business with his brother Ed. He was a devoted father and grandfather and family meant everything to him. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his family. When his kids were little he spent all his energy making sure they were happy and out there having fun, enjoying life. He repeated a lot of that fun when his grandchildren came along.
He is survived by his brother, Lewis Wiley Sr. and wife, Emma, of Glenburn; sister, Mary Clukey and husband, Dick, of Connecticut; three daughters, Stephanie Cust and husband, Chris, of Bangor, Shannon Stefanik and husband, Jack, of Brewer and Amanda “Manda” Clark and husband, Richard, of Brewer; grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Cassandra, Trey, Alysaundra, Dominque, Elias, Richie, Nicholas, Jenna, John, Joseph and Zackary; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Louise Eldridge, Sandra Griffin, the mother of his children, and Jaimi Tomlinson, his children’s youngest sister. Richard was predeceased by his parents Edwin Sr. and Marion; brothers, Clarence “Buddy,” Bob, Edwin Jr. and baby Peter; niece, Sherry; and nephew, Chris. Richard’s family thanks St. Joseph’s hospice team for their care, patience and support. Also thank you to Sister Mary Noberta for her visits and calls that gave him such peace at the end of his journey.
