HAMPDEN, Maine — A Hermon woman was killed Saturday night after she was ejected from an SUV that lost control and flipped on Bog Road, according to police.
Sarah Eason, 28, was a passenger in a Ford Explorer driven by Sarah Courtney, 33, of Orrington.
“It appears that [the SUV] got onto the shoulder of the road and lost control,” Hampden police Officer Shawn Devine said Saturday morning.
Police believe Eason wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Courtney, who police believe was buckled in, appeared to have no physical injuries but was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center as a precaution. She was released later that night, according to Devine.
Hampden police Sgt. Scott Webber is leading the investigation, and Maine State Police are assisting with accident reconstruction.
