ORONO – Margaret L. “Peggy” Darling, 76, passed away April 18, 2013, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her very special daughter, Debra Celestino and Debra’s fiancé, Robert L. Kennison. She was born Nov. 23, 1936, in Brewer, the daughter of the late LeRoy Thomas and Henrietta Maude (McAree) Foss.
Peggy is survived by her very special daughter and care giver, Debra Ann Celestino and Robert L Kennison, of Orono; three other daughters, Donna M. Delia of Bucksport, Diana L. Caulder of Kennebunk and Della J. Galvin of Electic, Ala.; special grandson, Christian L. Moro of Portland; brothers, Thomas Foss “Uncle Tom Tom” and Richard Foss both of Brewer; sister, Mary Coleman of Brewer; and many nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by son, Dana E. Moro; brother, Robert Foss; and sister, Catherine Tibbetts.
Peggy and her daughter Debra loved to do crossword puzzles, Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles and to play Yatzee, which Peggy won most of the time. Peggy enjoyed watching old classic black and white movies, walking along the water and her favorite flower was daisies. She was loved by all who were lucky enough to have met her. Peggy had a great sense of humor and a magnetic smile, which would always make you smile. She will be missed by all immensely. Love you Mama, Debra.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Eddy Cemetery, Bradley Road, Eddington.
