CARIBOU – Richard Murphy, 59, died unexpectedly April 26, 2013, at a Caribou hospital. He was born Aug. 26, 1953, in Fort Fairfield, the son of the late Joseph and Louise (Burbee Gray) Murphy.
Mr. Murphy was employed by Maine Military Authority. He married Leola Chamberland Oct. 22, 1977. Richard was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Leola, of Caribou is three sons, Russell Chamberland Murphy of Stockholm, Richard Murphy Jr. of Gray and Toby Lagassey Murphy of Richwood, W. Va; two brothers, Joseph Murphy Jr. of Ashland and Robert Murphy of Auburn; two sisters, Judy Schwenbaur of New York and Beatrice Bartucca of Fort Fairfield; six grandchildren, Desarae and Devon Chamberland, Trinity and Zachary Murphy and Austin and Joshua Lagassey; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family 1 p.m. until time of services Monday, April 29, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Services will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Babin, officiating. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com.
