WOODLAND – Leo White Jr., 78, died May 4, 2013, in Van Buren after a long illness. He was born Dec. 20, 1934, in Caribou, the son of the late Leo and Blanche (Lagasse) White Sr.
He was employed by New England Electrical Workers Union 42 for more than 34 years. He was a member of Caribou Assembly of God as well as the Florida Assembly. Leo loved to travel in his motor home and was an avid motorcyclist. He was a longtime member of United Bikers of Maine.
He is survived by his wife, Rita White of St. David, whom he married Nov. 1, 2000; sons, Leo White III of Mississippi, Dennis White of Caribou, David White and wife, Stephany of Presque Isle and Ricky White of Lebanon; daughter, Denise Green and husband, Darrin, of Woodland; two brothers, Delmar Maxwell of Washburn and Nason Maxwell of Waterbury, Conn.; three sisters, Rita Getchell of Silver Springs, Fla., Nancy Kumer of Connecticut and Shirley Shorey of Presque Isle; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mr White was predeceased by his first wife, Zeda White; and siblings, Larry and Norman White, Gordy Maxwell, Ester Nickerson, Theresa Johnson, Albertine Landeen and Marie Maxwell.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday, May 8, at the chapel of Mockler Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. Interment will be at Crouseville Cemetery. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com.
