CARIBOU – Louise A. Levasseur, 93, died May 5, 2013, at Mars Hill. She was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Caribou the daughter of the late Napoleon and Rose Anne (Levesque) Levasseur.
She attended the Caribou schools and was employed by the U.S. government in Baltimore, the Pentagon and Andrews Air Force base, beginning as a key punch operator in 1940 and retiring in 1971 as a management analyst. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Louise loved to travel as a young person. She was a prolific reader and true bibliophile. She played piano all of her life as it gave her much comfort and pleasure. Louise loved Maine, her flowers and her friends.
She is survived by three sisters, Priscilla Williamson of Woodstock, Va., Marie Shuff of Hagerstown, Md., and Theresa Madigan of Caribou; brother, Philip Levasseur of Caribou; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Claude and Francis.
Friends may call 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, until time of services held at 11 a.m. at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Interment will be at Old Holy Rosary Cemetery. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com.
