ENFIELD, CONN. – Robert “Bob” F. Gallagher, 72, of Enfield, Conn., and loving husband of 21 years to the late Sheila (Breckett) Gallagher passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, May 12, 2013. Bob was born April 30, 1941, in Brewer, the son of the late James and Helenor (Jordan) Gallagher.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion John Maciolek Post 154 of Enfield and a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. Bob retired from Pratt and Whitney in 1996 after many years. He was an avid golfer and bowler and best hug giver to his 10 granchildren.
He is survived by children, Mark S. Gallagher of Santa Cruz, Calif., Brian P. Gallagher and his wife, Dawn, of Macungie, Pa., David M. Gallagher of Oregon, Kevin K. Gallagher of New York, Bryan C. Gallagher of Concord, N.H., and Megan K. Gallagher of Enfield, Conn. Bob is also survived by his siblings, James Gallagher of Barrington, N.H., Patricia Augustus and her husband, Jack, of Brewer and Carline Clarke of Concorde, N.H.; and 10 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 17, at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, Conn. 06082. A funeral procession will gather at the funeral home 9 a.m. Saturday, May 18, for a Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, Enfield, Conn.
