WOODLAND – Deborah “Debbie” Green, 59, passed away May 12, 2013, at Maine Medical Center, Portland, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Debbie was born May 11, 1954, daughter of Elbert and Idella Fowler of Woodland.
Debbie grew up one of five children on the family farm on the Fowler Road. After leaving the farm to be out on her own, she returned to Fowler Road, next to where she grew up, to live out the rest of her life. Debbie greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and loved family vacations. She went on several trips with her sisters, including Mexico, Spain and Jamaica. Debbie dedicated her life to taking care of other people, starting out as a caregiver at Caribou Nursing Home, followed by an extensive career of 33 years at Cary Medical Center as a registered nurse and health educator. During her tenure with Cary, Debbie greatly enjoyed working with the Seniority Program, coordinating health screenings, luncheons and outings.
She is survived by daughter, Tammy Kalmbach of Westbrook; son, Philip Green Jr. of Caribou; and daughter, Amy Lamb of Brunswick. Debbie was blessed with six grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Samuel, Hannah, Marissa and Idella; and great-grandson, Noah. Debbie was one of five children, survived by sisters, Nancy Theriault, Bonnie Bishop, Pamela Michaud; and brother, Dana Fowler. Debbie also leaves behind her two American Eskimo’s, Bella and Chloe, lovingly referred to as her “fur kids.”
Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, and also 1-2 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. with Pastor Gail Bellamy officiating. Interment will be after services at Woodland Cemetery. A reception will be after the burial in the activity center at Assembly of God Church, Caribou.
