STONINGTON and SEBASTIAN, Fla. – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Anthony Edwin Chapman, May 9, 2013. He was born March 4, 1934, in Bronxville, N.Y., to Clarence and Mary Chapman.
For the past 45 years he was the beloved husband of Karen Chapman. He attended and graduated from St. Lawrence University, Canton, N.Y. He spent his entire working career at Citi Bank of New York City, retiring from the bank as a vice president. He served two years in the U.S Army stationed in Germany, on active duty, and then spent 25 years in the Army Reserve, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. In 1991, after retiring, he and Karen made their home in Stonington. They loved their new community and became involved in Memorial Ambulance Corps. Tony was a driver and the president of the corps’ board of trustees for 17 years. He also served on the board of trustees of Island Medical Center, Stonington. Tony loved his wife, boating, opera and his dogs. He will be deeply missed and forever in our memories. May he be hearing his favorite opera now and feeling the sweet kisses of all his dogs.
