SEBOEIS PLANTATION – Helina J. Later Stegenga, 52, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at her home in Lafayette, N.J., after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 17, 1961, in Hartford, Conn., daughter of Lorin R. Later and Rita N. (Anderson) Germaine.
She loved to fish, hunt, go four-wheeling and loved cooking in her kitchen.
Helina is survived by her husband, Barry Stegenga of Lafayette, N.J., and formerly of Seboeis Plantation; daughter, Destiny and husband, Smitty, of Madison; son, Jeremy and partner, Ida, of Fairfield; daughter, Julie and husband, Mickey, of Bingham; daughter, Jill of Charlton, Mass.; daughter, Jennifer and husband, Chris, of Oxford, Mass.; daughter, Jessica and partner, Chris, of Moscow, Maine; son, Ryan and partner, Alysha, of Bingham; and grandchildren, Caleb, Cassidy, Rayanna, Cannon, Desirae, Damon, Deanna, Tori, Tyler, Jaiilynn and Skylynn. She is also survived by her mother, Rita Germaine; siblings, Sherry Gilbert, Lorin Later, Lori Merrill and Cora Miller; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Lorin Later; stepfather, John Germaine; and sister, Wendy Randall. The family thanks the medical communities from CancerCare of Maine, Sparta Cancer Center, Newton Hospital and Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Center for their wonderful care.
