CHATHAM, MASS. AND ST. FRANCIS – Claudine Walker, 81, died peacefully May 17, 2013 at Liberty Commons Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center, Chatham, Mass. She was born Sept. 19, 1931, in St. Agatha, the daughter of Damase and Lucy (Thibodeau) Ouellette.
Claudine was very proud of her Mic-Mac heritage. She had a great passion for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, having been a game inspector in St. Francis from 1961 to 2010. She worked at Allagash Wilderness Camps, as well as for David D. Daigle farms, picking potatoes and cutting seeds for many years. She enjoyed picking fiddle heads and canoeing the Allagash river. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, giving donuts and fudge to her many friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her three children, Janice Bolton and husband, Buddy, of Yarmouth, Mass., Cheryl Daigle and husband, Claude, Michael Walker and wife, Amy, all of Harwich, Mass.; 10 grandchildren, Chad, Tammy, Tonya, Stephanie, Leslie, Ryan, Allison, Payton, Austin and Maddox; 11 great-grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, Patsy Nadeau, Charlene Walker, Kate Ouellette and Sylvia Ouellette; many nieces, nephews and cousins and a special friend, Judy Chamberlain. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edgar J. Walker in 1986; one son, Harold Walker in 2010; five sisters and five brothers.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10:30 a.m. at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Catholic Church, St. Francis. Committal services will be in the parish cemetery.
