HAMPDEN – Marilyn Harper Stone, 76, passed away peacefully May 24, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Presque Isle, to the late Chauncey H. and Helen H. (Clark) Harper.
Marilyn graduated from Mattanawcook High School, class of 1955, and Central Academy Beauty School, class of 1963. She spent her married life of 45 years as a homemaker and mother to her two daughters. She enjoyed shopping, reading, music and television but most of all enjoyed being a grandmother and playing with her two special grandchildren. Marilyn will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
Marilyn is survived by daughter, Cynthia Stone Penney and husband, James; and two grandchildren, Kenneth and Kimberly Penney, all of Hampden. Marilyn was predeceased by her loving husband, Louis, daughter, Deborah Stone Pare`; and brother, George W. Harper.
Family and friends are invited to visit 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held noon, Thursday, May 30, with the Rev. Dick Woehr officiating. Interment will be immediately after the funeral at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marilyn’s honor may be made to Marilyn H.
