JONEBORO – Richard White, 79, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away May 25, 2013, surrounded by his Courtland Rehab and Living Center family in Ellsworth. Richard was born Dec. 10, 1933, son of Laurence and Josephine Mae Redimarker White.
He married the joy of his life, Marilyn Maker, June 24, 1953. Richard was a printer for many years for Machias Valley News Observer and also for Commercial Printing and ended his career at Columbia Supermarket. He enjoyed cooking big family dinners and after moving to Courtland looked forward to bingo days.
Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn; three children, Patricia Driscoll and husband, Kendall, of Columbia Falls, Terry and wife, Sharon, and Allison Tibbetts and husband, Ted, of Jonesboro; five granddaughters, Kendra Nelson and husband, Rob, of Columbia, Kara Logan and husband, Chip, of Hancock, DeAnne Taylor and husband, Alan, of Cutler, Erika Smith and husband, Erik, Brittany West and husband, Adam, all of Jonesboro; three stepgrandchildren, Penny Maker and husband, Kevin, of Marshfield, Royce Richards of Jonesboro and Darren Richards of Madsion; six great-grandchildren, Dylan and Kylee Nelson, Kate and Mike Taylor and Keith and Vanna Smith; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Romayn Richards and Otis Richards; brother, Newell White and wife, Mary, of East Machias; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Vance White; and brother, Floyd White.
Visiting hours will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 220 Court St., Machias. Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Jonesboro Union Church with interment immediately afterward. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes, Machias.
