MADAWASKA – Miss Rita Chasse, 83, passed away June 5, 2013, at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born Sept. 2, 1929, in Grand Isle, daughter of the late Thaddie and Eva (Doucette) Chasse.
Rita had spent most of her adult life in Connecticut and California. She returned home to live her last years at Ridgewood Estates.
She is survived by three brothers, Dick and wife, Ann, of East Hartford, Conn., Milford and companion, Lorraine Duff, of Hawk Point, Mo., and John and wife, Bertha, of St. David; four sisters, Rena Hardy and husband, Talmadge, of Calhoun, Ga., Romona Clavette of Wolcott, Conn., Loretta Clavette and husband, Lucien, of East Hartford, Conn., and Julia Smith and husband, Clayton, of Paplin, Va.; brother-in-law, Lee Rose of Ashford, Conn.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Doria Rose; two brothers, Clayton and wife, Lorraine, and Raymond and wife, Yvette; brother-in-law, Herby Clavette; and sister-in-law, Mildred Chasse.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no viewing. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, at St. Thomas Church. Interment will be held immediately after the service at the parish cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC.
