WINTERPORT – Stephen Joshua Clark, 56, passed away peacefully June 6, 2013, after a two year battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Steve was born June 23, 1956, in Bangor, to Joshua and Geraldine (Patterson) Clark.
Stephen or “Grampie Stephen,” as he was often referred to, was a lifelong resident of Winterport. He was a tireless worker and spent his entire working career driving truck for Parkeway Transportation and later for his best friend, Brett Parke of Northland Bark Mulch as an owner/operator. He enjoyed camping, auto racing, BBQ’s, pool volleyball and snowmobiling, but most of all loved spending time with his family. Erin will miss her and Stephen’s Dunkin’ Donuts runs and Courtney will miss watching hours of Animal Planet’s Big Cat Diaries. Stephen was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend who would do anything for others, yet never ask for anything in return.
Stephen is survived by his parents, Joshua “Buddy” and Geraldine “Gerry” Clark; his loving wife of 32 years, Judith (Quimby) Clark; daughter, Sherrie Flewelling and husband, Wayne; son, Shane Clark; granddaughters, Courtney and Erin; siblings, Marty Clark, Sonya Ginn and Stephanie Worster; brothers-in-law, Roger, Wayne and Jeff Quimby; sisters-in-law, Gerry Littlefield and Nancy Moore; several nieces, nephews and close friends from the trucking business; as well as those close family friends too numerous to mention. Stephen was predeceased by infant twins.
Family and friends are invited to visit 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, with Pastor Steve Nute officiating. Interment will be at Clark Cemetery, Winterport. Messages of condolence and memories may be shared though www.hampdengilpatrick.com.
