CARIBOU – Theresa Nora Gagnon, 82, passed away Monday morning, June 10, 2013, at Cary Medical Center, Caribou. She was born March 8, 1931, in Caribou, the daughter of Thaddy and Vina (Fournier) Thibodeau.
Theresa fought a courageous short-term battle with cancer. She was a wonderful woman – so talented, so loving and so giving of herself to all her family. Theresa attended and graduated from Caribou schools. Theresa was always so full of life, with an easy smile and a spark that she carried throughout her 82 years. She found the most joy in the pure, simple pleasures in life: sewing, gardening and her marriage in June 1948, to her husband, Edgar Gagnon, and they spent 65 years together. She also enjoyed her children and her pets. Her greatest joy, however, was derived from loving and influencing her grandchildren as they matured into remarkable adults and witnessing them instill the same values to Theresa’s great-grandchildren. One of the fondest and most cherished memories by the entire family was Christmas. For many years Theresa would write a skit, design and custom fashion the costumes, and select the music for a Christmas Eve tradition that the grandchildren would perform. The house was always adorned with lights and decorations that were picture perfect, fit for the cover of a magazine. Theresa owned and operated Terry’s Wedding Apparel on the East Presque Isle Road, Caribou, for many years. Theresa was considered a professional seamstress and made sure every wedding gown, bridesmaid dresses and tuxedos were fit to perfection, as though it was her own wedding.
In addition to her husband of Caribou, Theresa is survived by her children, Michael Gagnon and his wife, Lu, of Caribou, Gregg Gagnon and his wife, Judy, of Windham, Steven Gagnon and his companion, Nancy Solman, of Caribou and Ted Gagnon and his wife, Cheryl, of New Durham, N.H.; daughter, Terry Konrad and her husband, Jack, of Moosup, Conn.; brothers, Charles Thibodeau and his wife, Muriel, of Hudson, N.H., and Ted Thibodeau and his wife, Carol, of Connecticut; sister, Lorraine Weaver and her husband, Herb, of Caribou; grandchildren, Jamie Gagnon of Falmouth, Kasey (Gagnon) Perkins and her husband, Dan, of Belmont, N.H., Kristofer Anderson and his wife, Jennifer, of Windham, Alyssa Gagnon and her fiancé, Patrick Turner, of Bowdoinham, Wendy LeBlanc and her husband, Keith, of Biddeford, Thomas Gagnon and his wife, Amme, of Hampden, Lindsey (Gagnon) Adams and her husband, Andrew, of Caribou, Erika Konrad of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Erin Gagnon of Barnstead, N.H.; also three very special daughters-in-law, Ginnie Chung of Yukon, Okla., Alana Gagnon of Presque Isle and Lori Thorndike of Barnstead, N.H.; great-grandchildren, Parker Adams, Savannah and Bailey Perkins, Gabriel Gagnon, and identical twins, Nora and Josie LeBlanc. Other loved family members are Chad Bouchard and his wife, Tammy, and their children, Konnor and Saydee of Alaska, and Bradley Bouchard and his son, Braden Bouchard, of Caribou. Theresa also had special friends, Philip and Janice St. Peter, Ron and Bernadette Ouellette, Paul and Aurella LeBlanc and Philip and Jean Sullivan. Theresa was predeceased by her brothers, Romeo Thibodeau and Alcide Thibodeau; and sisters, Lillian Sprague and Isabelle (Bella) Roy.
