WINN – Lisa Ann (Sommers) Fogg, 46, passed away unexpectedly June 4, 2013, at her home. She was born Dec. 7, 1966, in Bridgeport, Conn., daughter of Raymond and Glenda (Coolong) Sommers of Patten.
She made her home with her husband, Robert Fogg, in Winn. Lisa was raised in Patten. She graduated with honors from Katahdin High School in 1985 and with honors from University of Maine, Orono, in 1989. Lisa taught school at Ella P. Burr School, Lincoln, for two years and at the EUT schools in Benedicta and Kingman for 12 years. In 2003, she became a math and science teacher at the Star Base program at the Air National Guard base in Bangor, which provides programs for fifth and sixth graders in the Bangor area. Throughout the years, Lisa had also worked with many special children, spending quality time with them during after school hours, on weekends, and during school breaks. Lisa had served on the school board for SAD 30 for the last 12 years, advocating for the highest quality education for children within budgetary means.
Lisa is survived by her husband and best friend, Robert Fogg Sr. and stepson, Robert Fogg Jr., of Winn; parents, Glenda and Raymond Sommers of Patten; brother, David Sommers of Dyer Brook; beloved niece and nephew, Kaitlyn and Garrett Sommers of Oakfield; grandmother, Annie Somers of Patten; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ray and Jeannie Fogg of Lee; aunts and uncles Dick Somers, Sadie and Wayne Heath, Marilyn Somers, Marie and Tom Chase of Patten, Lois Somers of Oakfield, Gene Somers and Donna Patterson of Houlton, Dan and Nancy Coolong of Rhode Island, Susan York of Island Falls, Vicki and Steve Richardson, and Kemp and Debbie Coolong of Mount Chase; members of her husband’s family, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Spurgeon Somers and Hadley, and Patricia Coolong; and a very special cousin, Ryan Bates.
