FRANKFORT – Judith E. Tufts, 70, passed away June 12, 2013, at her residence. She was born Feb. 12, 1943, in Frankfort, daughter of Nathaniel and Cora (Cunningham) Kingsbury.
She grew up on a blueberry farm, the youngest of 12 children. She put herself through college receiving her degree as a registered nurse while raising three children and taking care of her family. Judy loved her family and was a homebody. She loved nursing and helping others. Judy worked at Waldo County General Hospital and area nursing homes and volunteered at Meals on Wheels, Senior Spectrum and Hospice.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 2010; three brothers; and a sister. Survivors include her children, Roland Tufts and Susan of Topsham, Julie Tufts and Tom Tufts, both of Frankfort; two brothers, Donald Kingsbury and Bob Kingsbury; sisters, Natalie Seekins, Barbara Kingsbury, Margaret Knowles, Jessie Ginn and Frances Hall; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Caroline.
Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
