UNION, Maine — Residents in Regional School Unit 40 gave their backing Tuesday, June 11, to a $22.2 million budget for 2013-2014.
The budget was backed in four of the five towns — Friendship, Union, Waldoboro, Warren and Washington — by a total tally of 530-384. Warren residents opposed the budget 39-44. The largest turnout by far came in Waldoboro, which supported the budget 315-238.
The $22.2 million budget represents an increase of less than 1 percent.
The budget cuts an occupational therapist. Those services will be provided by contracting with an outside provider.
