DEXTER – Judy O. Mitchell, 60, died unexpectedly June 20, 2013, at a Bangor hospital, with her family by her side. She was born Jan. 3, 1953, in Warwick, R.I., daughter of Richard and Arlena (Gardiner) Thornley Sr.
Judy worked as a hand sewer for many years. She was an avid drawer and loved painting. She enjoyed four-wheeling, going to camp and country and western music. Judy will be remembered for her love of family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 30 years, Earl Todd Mitchell, she is survived by two daughters, Teresa and fiancé, Danny Grant, and their children, Tyler and Allie, all of Ripley, and Traci and husband, Justin Taylor, of Dexter; four brothers, Kenny Thornley of Guilford, Keith Thornley of Sangerville, Ricky Thornley of Wellington and Scott Thornley and friend, Carmen Irish, of Dexter; sister, Valerie Huff of Skowhegan; and a special brother-in-law, Art Bolduc of Harmony. She was predeceased by son, Lance Cowette; and sister, Jackie Bolduc.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 24, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating.
