PENOBSCOT – Shirley “Jerry” Bartok, 72, passed away early Thursday morning, June 27, 2013, after a short, but brave fight with Lymphoma. She left us quietly in her sleep with her husband, Billy, her daughter, Shelly, and her sister, Nancy, at her side. None of us were prepared for how quickly we lost her. She worked at Mount Desert Island Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, Palm Beach, Fla., as an operating room nurse, at Kent County Hospital, Rhode Island, Stulla Pavilion, Connecticut, and finished her nursing career at Penobscot Nursing Home. Jerry enjoyed reading, watching the Red Sox and spending time with her family.
