DOVER-FOXCROFT – Dwight Russell Strout, 87, husband of Frances (Bell) Strout, passed away peacefully, July 3, 2013, at Hibbard Nursing Home, Dover-Foxcroft. He was born Dec. 8, 1925, in Charleston, son of Perley and Dorothy (Hanson) Strout.
Dwight worked for many years as a machinist for Fay & Scott. A member of the Pony Pulling Association, he was a pony pulling enthusiast, and enjoyed traveling the circuit of fairs in Maine.
In addition to his loving wife of 68 years, Frances, Dwight is survived by five daughters, Rachel Berce, Beverly LaCroix and husband, Larry, Joanne Sincyr and husband, Jack, Lindy Warren and Cindy Curran and husband, Peter; 10 grandchildren, Eric, Dawn, Debbie, David, Dani, Jason, Billy, Nicole, Becky and Ryan; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn Carr. He was predeceased by daughter, Donna Mallett; brother, Charles Strout; and sister, Marjorie Greene.
