BELFAST – Ricky E. Woods, 50, passed away unexpectedly July 10, 2013, in Belfast. He was born Dec. 19, 1962, in Belfast, son of Ed and Elaine (Jackson) Woods.
Ricky graduated from Belfast Area High School, Eastern Maine Community College and Bangor Community College. He worked many years as a cook at Tall Pines. For the past 10 years, he had been employed at Mathew Brothers, Belfast. Rick was an avid Boston sports fan. He enjoyed camping, fishing and having a good time with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother, Elaine LaCombe; and great-aunt, Jean Cunningham. Rick is survived by his father and stepmother, Ed and Diane Woods of Belfast; sister, Kim Elkins and husband, Baxter, of Hampden; brothers, Josh Woods and wife, Katie, of Winslow and Jake Woods of Belfast; and stepsister, Amanda Ackley of Philadelphia. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Albert and Ruth Jackson of Morrill; nieces and nephew, Abigail, Madison and Jackson Elkins of Hampden and Ava Woods of Winslow; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Morrill Village Cemetery, where his remains will be laid to rest with his mother. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
