BANGOR – Sharon Edith (Averill) Archer, 65, passed away Feb. 9, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 1, 1947, in Bangor, daughter of Roger and Irene Lillith (Sproul) Averill.
Sharon was a graduate of John Bapst High School, and attended San Jose (Calif.) College. She was a longtime resident of Bangor House.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward; two brothers, Lawrence and Roland Averill; and sister, Irene Kenney. Sharon is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Averill of Orono and Terrance Averill of Oregon; sister, Lucille “Cindy” DeBeck of Newburgh; special niece, Jennifer Kenney Murphy; and several other nieces and nephews.
Interment will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, 449 Ohio St., Bangor. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the Mass at the St. John Church reception hall.
