FORT FAIRFIELD – Lois M. Morrow, 64, wife of Eugene P. Morrow, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, July 18, 2013, at a Presque Isle health care facility, after an extended illness. She was born Sept. 23, 1948, in California Settlement, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of Joseph E. and Celia E. (Smith) Pelkey.
Lois was a graduate of the Perth-Andover school system, was married to Eugene P. Morrow June 23, 1969, and had been employed by the Fort Fairfield school system as a secretary for more than 20 years. She was later employed by the Department of Environmental Protection, Presque Isle, as a secretary for five years prior to her retirement. Lois had also been a member of Fort Fairfield United Pentecostal Church for many years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morrow was predeceased by grandson, Thomas O. Somers, Dec. 31, 2010; two brothers, Arnold E. and Carl L. Pelkey; and sister, Norma Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Eugene P. Morrow of Fort Fairfield; three daughters, Sheila Casper and companion, Tony, Michelle Stephens and husband, Darcy, all of Hannibal, N.Y., and Sherry Somers and husband, Timothy, of Fort Fairfield; five sisters, Juanita Pelkey of Perth, New Brunswick, Avis DeMerchant and husband, Newman, of Aroostook, New Brunswick, Phyllis Janosik and husband, Wayne, of Fate, Texas, Marlene Tompkins, and Patricia Watson, both of Perth, New Brunswick; four grandchildren, Kiley and Tyler Casper, and Rachele and Alexis Stephens, all of Hannibal, N.Y.; great-grandchild, Savannah Casper of Hannibal, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, at United Pentecostal Church, 37 Currier Road, Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Ronald Doughty officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the church after the service.
