OLD TOWN – David J. Sack, 59, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 5, 1954, in Waterville, son of the late Peter and Carolyn Ellen (Sturtevant) Sack Sr.
David graduated from Waterville High school, class of 1973, with honors. He was then employed for 25 years with S.D. Warren/Sappi Co., Skowhegan, until his retirement in 1995 due to his health. He enjoyed the great outdoors, many mediums of art and most of all skiing.
He is survived by two sons, Benjamin I. Sack and fiancée, Amy OBrien, of Round Pond, and Joshua J. Sack Sr. and wife, Tarsha, of Vassalboro; grandson, Joshua J. Sack Jr.; and five siblings, Peter Sack Jr. and wife, Linda, of Waterville, Terry Ann Murphy of Winslow, Roger W. Sack of Norridgewok, Ron L. Sack and wife, Dianne, of Broadhead, Ky., and Leslie A. Sack of Fairfield Center. He also leaves behind three special people in his life; aunt, Mary A. Freer of Hemet, Calif.; cousin, Shirley Williams of Oakland; and friend, Donald Ewer of Old Town.
A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville. Burial will take place in the family lot at St. St. Francis Cemetery, Waterville. Arrangements by Gallant Funeral Home.
