BELFAST – Genevieve E. Rediker, 83, passed away July 24, 2013, with the birds singing outside her window and surrounded by loved ones at the Tall Pines rehabilitation facility, Belfast, where she called home for the past few years. Genny, or Nana as she preferred to be called, was born July 14, 1930, in Cherryfield, daughter of Joseph H. and Edith P. (Small) Davis.
Genny was predeceased by her sisters, June, Joanne, Pauline and Anna; and brother, Frank. Genny is survived by a very dear sister, Dona Keller of Swanville; daughter, Gail Keene and husband, David, of Belfast; son, Alfred Ladd and wife, Donna, of Stetson; and daughter, Lisa Rediker and fiancé, Joseph McDevitt, of Swanville. Genny had three grandsons whom she loved dearly, Kale Ladd and wife, Tara, and children, Ava, Issac and Emma of Hermon, Justin Ladd and wife, Savannah, and children, Brayden, Ethan and Eli of Corinth, and Daniel Keene and wife, Courtney, and daughter, Mckinnley of Belfast. A special thanks to Dr. Howard Jones who was always only a phone call away in helping with her care these past few years. Also to Lori, many nurses, nurses’ aids, kitchen, activities and housekeeping staff at Tall Pines who cared and loved Genny throughout this journey and became dear friends to the family.
Visiting hours will be held 2-3 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Riposta Funeral Home, with a funeral service afterward. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Swanville. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.ripostafh.com.
