SCARBOROUGH and RIPLEY – Kenneth “Budge” Stafford, 74, died July 26, 2013, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Scarborough. He was born Feb. 24, 1939, in Ripley, son of Kenneth and Mary (Morril) Stafford.
He was a graduate of Dexter High School and served in the U.S. Army for 24 years. He later worked for Dexter Shoe Company. He was a member of Penobscot Masonic Lodge, Dexter. He was an avid reader and a loyal Red Sox and Patriots fan. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their RV, and spent the past several winters at their home in Florida.
Ken was predeceased by his parents; brother, Cecil; daughter, Kelly; and son, Ken. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy (Tower) Stafford; daughter, Beth Myrick and husband, Jeff, of Standish; daughter, Patty Laferriere and husband, Rob, of Gorham; daughter, Amy Stafford of Seattle; and four grandchildren, Kalen and Evan Stafford and William and James Myrick.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St., Dexter, where a Masonic service will be held 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the funeral home, with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating.
