BIRCH HARBOR – Leamon Chipman passed away Aug. 1, 2013, at the age of 85. He was born April 30, 1928, in Milbridge, to Ed and Minnie (Beal) Chipman.
Leamon was a 60 year member of Winter Harbor Masonic Lodge No. 192 and worked for many years as a Pound Keeper and lobster buyer. Leamon enjoyed spending his time lobster fishing and working with wood.
He is predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Minnie Chipman; his wife, Kay Chipman; sister, Mildred Crowley; brothers, Roger Chipman, Vinton Chipman and Maynard Chipman Sr. Leamon is survived by his son, John and his wife, Gerry Chipman; daughter, Barbara and her husband, Dana Rice; brothers, Avery Chipman, George Chipman, Herb Chipman and Bert Chipman; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Skipper.
Viewing will be held 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge, where a Masonic service will be held at 6 p.m. A funeral service will begin 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the same location.
