LINNEUS – Glen C. Stewart, 86, went to be with his Lord Aug. 7, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 21, 1927, at Linneus, the son of Ervin and Georgia (Stevens) Stewart.
Glen attended Linneus schools was a life long faithful member of Linneus Free Will Baptist Church and was known in his church and community for his honest and gentle spirit. He was owner and operator of Stewart Logging Company for many years. He loved to hunt and fish, was a faithful Red Sox fan and liked to just sit back and read a good book.
Glen is survived by his wife, Vallie (Tarr) Stewart of Linneus; two daughters, Elaine Marshall and her husband, Wesley, of Hodgdon, and Diane Lutz of Saco; four grandchildren, Leanne Chamberlain, Shelly Miller and her husband, Rob, Travis Lutz and companion, Amanda, and Chad Lutz and his companion, Jenna; five great-grandchildren, Micah and Emily Chamberlain, Josh and Jordan Miller, and Travis Lutz Jr.; one brother, Lee Stewart; his sister, Joyce Tracy and her husband, Terry; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Wendall, Clifton, Floyd and Dale; and his sister Elva Sawyer.
Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of the service held noon Saturday, at Linneus Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rick Murray officiating. Interment will be at Linneus Cemetery.
