ST. ALBANS, Maine — A home on the Woodmere Lane was destroyed by fire early Monday morning, officials said.

Nobody was home at the time of the blaze and no injuries were reported, according to First Deputy Chief Ronnie Finson of the St. Albans Fire Department.

The blaze was reported shortly after 8 a.m. by a passer-by, according to Finson. There were no animals in the single-story home, which was completely engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

Finson said it’s unknown if the family who owns the home has insurance. He added that the state fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.

The fire, which was under control in about 2 hours, doesn’t appear to be suspicious, Finson said. Firefighters from Corinna, Hartland, St. Albans and Dexter responded.
