EAST MILLINOCKET and INDIANA, Pa. – Judith Ann Turcotte, 55, passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2013 at a Bangor hospital. Judy was born Feb. 17, 1958, in Millinocket, the daughter of Richard and Barbara (McQuade) Dempsey.
Judy was a nurturer, caring for the needs of her family, and caring for the needs of her dogs, all four of them. She always put everyone before herself. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and spending time at her camp. The beauty and serenity of the camp was a perfect reflection of Judy. Kayaking with her dogs was one of her favorite pastimes. She had a broad definition of family, which included friends she hadn’t seen for years, extended family as well as her immediate family. Judy loved her family deeply and was passionate whenever it came to her husband, children and grandchildren. She had a heart of gold. She enjoyed doing things for her family and her friends all year long.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband, Billy; her children, Justin Turcotte, Jeremy Turcotte and wife, Shannon, Kristen Baltzer and husband, Jeremiah and Cody Turcotte; grandchildren, Matthew and Lillian Baltzer; mother, Barbara Dempsey; siblings, Vicki Dick and husband, Eric, Eddie Dempsey and wife, Lynn, Bonnie Patchell and husband, Chet, and Sharon Dempsey; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Judy was predeceased by her father, Richard Dempsey; and her brother, Wayne Dempsey.
Friends may visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider. Memorial donations may be made to the Dempsey Challenge at www.dempseychallenge2013.kintera.org/bonnie_patchell.
