ELLSWORTH – With family by her side, Nancy S. Potts, 78, gently passed away July 30, 2013.
Nancy was born in Pennsauken, N.J. In 1957, she graduated from Glassboro State College, and married Alvin W. Potts of Hedding, N.J. She began a lifelong teaching career at Stevens Station School, Florence, N.J., then taught Kindergarten at Columbus Elementary School in New Jersey for another 29 years before retiring in 1993. Nancy enjoyed travel, birding, gardening, and genealogical research.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Alvin; her father, Henry Sohl Jr.; and her brother, Roger Sohl. She is survived by her mother, Mary Etta Sohl of Ellsworth; and sons, David A. and Kathleen of Hedding, N.J., Warren L. of San Diego, and Brian D. of Columbia Falls. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren, Andrew, Nathan, Amy and Jessica; and great-granddaughter, Zoey.
She will always be remembered for her ability to inspire children to grow and learn. She will be greatly missed. Nancy requested that there be no funeral service, but rather that we remember her life with fondness and celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Friends In Action, P.O.
