PROSPECT – Edward Perry, 81, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Sept. 25, 1931, in East Providence, R.I., the son of Frank and Bella (Diogenes) Perry.
Ed owned and operated Perry’s Store on U.S. Route One in Stockton Springs for 33 years. Ed thought of his customers as friends and extended family. Ed was a retired fire fighter from the Stockton Springs Fire Department. Ed was a hard worker and loved being around people. He had a great love for his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Miriam A. (Wightman) Perry; two sons, Ed F. Perry and wife, Regina, of Prospect, and Robert C. Perry and wife, Linda, of Attleboro, Mass.; grandchildren, Michelle Perry and Josh Perry; one great-grandchild, Cooper Perry; as well as many stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by two brothers, John Perry and Frank Perry; and one sister, Elaine Perry.
Family and friends will gather for visitation 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A private burial will be held at a later date. www.mitchelltweedie-young.com.
