PORTLAND, Maine — Crews from Central Maine Power are working to restore service to the Old Port neighborhood, which has been without electrical power since 4:42 p.m., a company spokesman said Monday evening.

The outage was caused by a faulty primary cable, the spokesman said. An estimated time for the restoration of service was not immediately available.

The live outage map on CMP’s website showed that 119 accounts are without power and that the affected area includes: Commercial, Dana, Fore, Gold, Market, Pearl, Silver, Spring and Wharf streets, Deerfield Road and Widgery Wharf.
