PRESQUE ISLE – Geneva E. Meyer, 86, died Friday afternoon, Aug. 16, 2013, at her residence in Presque Isle. She was born June 12, 1927, in Ashland, the daughter of William and Effie (Pelletier) Pelletier.
She worked for J.J. Newsberry Co., for 42 years; most of those years were spent as manager of three stores, Presque Isle, Mars Hill and Caribou. She was a past member of the Presque Isle Chamber of Commerce.
Geneva is survived by a sister, Joanne Amsden of Baltimore; a sister-in-law, Alma Pelletier of Caribou; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Joan Gagne of Presque Isle. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, J. Richard “Dick” Meyer in 1996; two brothers, Dana and Gary Pelletier; five sisters, Shirley Beaulieu, Geraldine Pelletier, Jeanette St. Onge, Betty Vanderbor and Marilyn Yarmack.
Friends may call 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. with the Rev. Emile Dube officiating.
