MCLEAN, VA. – William Dodd Hathaway passed away Monday, June 24, 2013.
William Dodd Hathaway was a former United States Senator from Maine.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Lee Bird Hathaway. He was also the father of Dr. Susan H. and Richard Boydston of Cincinnati and Fred W. and Lee B. Hathaway of Washington, D.C.; brother of the late Dr. Jean Fergusson in the Philadelphia area and the late John F. Hathaway in the Detroit, Mich., area; grandfather of Elizabeth Britton and Steven Larkin, LT Edward Hathaway, USN, Alexander Dodd Boydston and Bart Den Boer, William Broadfoot and Benjamin Dodd Hathaway; and great-grandfather of Kai Benjamin Larkin.
A visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad St., Falls Church, Va. A funeral service will be held 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Memorial Chapel, Ft. Myer, Va. Interment will follow in Arlington National Cemetery.
