MILLINOCKET – Monique P. Jacques, 82, passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. Monique was born June 25, 1931, in Lac Mégantic, Québec, the daughter of Ernest and Jeannette (Thebérge) Boulanger.
Monique grew up on her parents’ dairy farm before marrying her husband, Guy, in 1957. Monique enjoyed knitting and crocheting, gardening, cooking, crafts, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren who brought her so much joy. She was a communicant at St. Martin’s Catholic Church. She had a great devotion to the Rosary. She occasionally volunteered at the Thrift Shop as well as helping with the annual Harvest Tea. Monique was a very caring and wonderful mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all.
Monique is survived by a daughter, Roxanne Birmingham of Verona Island; son, Mark Jacques and wife, Marie, of Sidney; son, David Jacques and wife, Dianne, of Windsor, Vt; five grandchildren, Carl and fiancée, Morgan, Sean, Melinda and husband, Patrick, Michelle and Natalie; brothers, Conrad, Robert, Luc and Jacques Boulanger; a sister, Ghislaine Beaudoin; and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her beloved dog, Molly. In addition to her parents, Monique was predeceased by her husband, Guy; a daughter, Jeannette; and a brother, Bertrand.
Friends may visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 19 Colby St., Millinocket.
