VAN BUREN – Reed A. Levesque, 64, died Aug. 25, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Oct. 29, 1948, in Van Buren, a son of the late Rosaire and Annie (Ellis) Levesque.
He enlisted with the Army and bravely served during Vietnam, until his honorable discharge in 1969. He was a proud member of the American Legion, Van Buren, for many years. His main pride was making people laugh and being a comedian, even joking with his family toward his final hours.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jeanne (Sirois) Levesque; two devoted daughters, Tracy Lizotte and her husband, Nicholas, and Trisha Sharp and her husband, Arnold; five grandchildren, Teya, Lucas, Kelsy, Kelly and Amanda; two great-granddaughters, Reese and Taylar; two sisters, Paula and Elizabeth; two brothers, Mike and Brent; a devoted and special cousin, Sharon Sirois; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Carol Levesque.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at St. Bruno – St. Remi Church, Van Buren. There will not be any visiting hours. Burial with military honors will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Reed’s memory may be made to: Edgar J.
