BUCKSPORT – Victor Bennett, 89, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at a Brewer long term care facility. He was born March 16, 1924, in Winterport, the son of Pearl and Louise Bennett.
He married Lenora Leach on July 15, 1943, and shared 52 years together until her passing on Aug. 24, 1995. Victor worked at St. Regis Paper Company in Bucksport for many years until his retirement in 1986. On Nov. 23, 1996, Victor married Pearl Gross and she predeceased him on Oct. 17, 2009.
He is survived by a son, Michael Bennett and his wife, Kay; a daughter, Andrea Carr and her husband, Donald; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; as well as several great-great-grandchildren. Victor also leaves behind many brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Riverview Cemetery, North Bucksport, with the Rev. Peter Remick officiating. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives, 205 Center St., Bangor.
