GLENBURN – Ann A. (Ambrose) Fryer, 74, died Aug. 24, 2013. Born Dec. 11, 1938, in North Conway, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of L. Raymond and Thincy Ambrose and married her late husband, Robert “Bob,” in 1959.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will always be remembered for her kind and selfless ways.
While her husband was in the Army in the late 50s, they were able to travel the world together. After Bob’s time in the Army, they lived in Connecticut, New York and eventually moved to New Gloucester, in the late 60s.
In Ann’s early years she worked as a registered nurse and later went into teaching where she retired in 2004. Ann enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading, gardening, the Eastern Star, serving as a Deacon at the First Congregational Church of New Gloucester and especially time with her grandchildren.
Family members include her son, Blake Fryer of Glenburn and his two children, Cameron and Bayley; her daughter, Amy Wohltjen and husband, Paul, of Scarborough along with their two children, Robert and William. Other loving family members include her brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews as well as many cherished and loved close friends.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at First Congregational Church of New Gloucester, 19 Gloucester Hill Road.
A private graveside service will follow at the Lower Gloucester cemetery.
