MILLINOCKET – Wayne Merle Brown, 74, passed away at a Lincoln health care facility Aug. 27, 2013, after a valiant battle with cancer. Wayne was born March 3, 1939, in Millinocket, the son of Van and Margaret (Boyer) Brown.
Wayne lived in Millinocket his entire life, going to Millinocket schools and then, as most young men upon graduation, went to work at the Great Northern Paper mill. Wayne loved the outdoors, especially hunting with his daughter, Janet, or his pal, Andy Clark. Every time he had a free moment he spent it in the woods. Wayne went to work for the town of Millinocket after a number of the years at the mill. He enjoyed his job and the friends he made there.
Wayne is survived by a son, Steven and wife, Angie, from Texas; a daughter, Janet of Millinocket; a son, Van and wife, Lissia, of Biddeford; a daughter, Tracy of Portland; son, Bryant, also of Portland; a son, Eric and wife, Becca, of Westbrook; a brother, Loren and wife, Evelyn; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, whom he loved and adored. In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his son, Russ; and several siblings.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Millinocket Cemetery, with the Rev. Terry Given officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462. Messages of condolence may be expressed at www.lamsonfh.com.
