GRAY, Maine — Hazardous weather outlooks are expected to remain in effect for portions of western and southern Maine throughout Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Cumberland, Androscoggin, Kennebec, Waldo, York, Sagadahoc, Lincoln and Knox counties are expected to experience heavy rainfall throughout the day.

The combination of Thursday’s rain and Wednesday’s storms that produced heavy thunderstorms and downpours could lead to flooding in the aforementioned counties. The NWS has not posted any flash flood warnings.

Flood watches were in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to the NWS. The service’s Caribou office indicates that areas north and east of Bangor aren’t expected to receive severe weather Thursday.
