BANGOR – Gordon M. McDougal, 72, passed away Sept. 1, 2013 at a Bangor nursing facility. He was born Dec. 11, 1941, the son of Glenwood Miles McDougall and Emma Paulina (Bondeson) McDougall.
Gordon spent many of his working years as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a talented woodworker. In his later years, he took great pleasure in being a grandfather and loved his grandkids dearly.
In addition to his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his sons, Allen, Alex and Aaron; a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Johnson; and a brother, Bernard McDougall. He is survived by his children, Gordon, Glen, Scott, Shawn, Kathryn and Nathan; special daughter-in-law, Kim, 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, siblings, Douglas and wife, Jeanette, Willard and wife, Louise, Elva “Ellie” and husband, Hollis Hills, Morris and wife, Bettina, Stephen and wife, Tina, and Debora and husband, Dexter Voter; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Clayton Blackstone officiating.
