E. PLANTATION – Roger L. Mullen, 65, of E. Plantation passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, Aug. 31, 2013, while visiting his family.
How do you sum up the life of a man who was kind, generous, hard-working?…FANTASTIC…
He is survived by his loving wife, Cathy; his children, Gail (and Mark) Cooper of Greenwood, Ind., Lori (and Ryan) Michaud of Hermon, Holly (and Sean) Ferguson of Yarmouth, Tim (and Colleen) Brewer of
Mars Hill and Tyler (and Jen) Brewer of Gray. His love encompassed all 12 grandchildren, who will surely miss their Papaw whether playing board games, taking four wheeler rides on the back 40, or just sitting and reading books.
He is predeceased by his father and mother, Walter and Gladys Mullen, and is survived by his sister, Donna (and Bert) Salmon, and his brother, Dennis (and Lynn) of Connecticut, and many nieces and nephews. He had a special relationship with his cousin, Vinal Mullen of Mars Hill, with one of them always trying to beat the other in volleyball, bicycling, or on the basketball court.
He lived life to the fullest. Even after retiring from Rathbun Lumber in December, he still didn’t slow down much. Enjoying his family land was one of his favorite pastimes-working on the hill, cutting wood, gardening, or snowshoeing brought him a sense of peace and happiness. He and Cathy made sure to take care of family, friends, and others in need, while expecting nothing in return.
His Christian family at the Old Fashion Revival Center (Blaine) meant the world to him. Please join us in celebrating his life with them 5-9 p.m. Tuesday night. The funeral will also be held at the Old Fashion Revival Center, 11 a.m. Wednesday with burial at the King’s Grove Cemetery in Mars Hill.
