CLARKDALE, Ariz. – Virginia Apodaca, 90, died May 21, 2013 in Clarkdale, AZ. She was born April 27, 1923 in Palmyra, ME, the daughter of Obed & Gerda (Weeks) Millett.
Mrs. Apodaca was a veteran of WWII serving in the USNR (WAVES). She was married to Henry Apodaca of Los Angeles, CA, and worked for many years as a deputy clerk in the Los Angeles County Court system, retiring in 1985.
She is survived by her 2 daughters Christine Slayden of North Pole, AK, and Dr. Karen Apodaca of Clarkdale, AZ; her son Paul Apodaca of Bermuda Dunes, CA; brother Thomas Millett of El Monte; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchilden.
Virginia will be remembered in Maine as a member of the Waves National-Maine Unit #41.
After moving to Prescott, Arizona, she performed volunteer work at the Veteran Administration Medical Center.
Virginia passed away in Clarkdale, AZ after a short illness.
Burial services Saturday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. at Palmyra Village Cemetery.
