ORRINGTON – Virginia R. (Rennebu) Bouchard, 77, died Sept. 22, in her sleep at the family camp following an extended period of ill health. Ginny was born Nov. 18, 1935 at Brewer, Maine, the daughter of Clyde and Eleanor (Meader) Rennebu.
She graduated from John Bapst High School in 1954. She attended St. Joseph’s College at Windham, Maine while enrolled with the Sisters of Mercy for two years.
She was a communicant of St. Teresa’s Church of St. Paul the Apostle Parish. She was involved in teaching Sunday school, RCIA, greeters, Sodality and Daughters of Isabella.
She was the cherished wife of Paul Bouchard for 51 years and enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother. She was gifted at cooking, baking, sewing, knitting and cake decorating.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one son, Joseph and his wife Debra of Arundel, Maine, two daughters, Ann Bouchard and her husband Gordon Osbourn of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Catherine Lachance and her husband Rene of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. She also had two grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Living siblings are Paul Rennebu and Thelma of Dexter, Maine, Mary Hunter and Vaughn of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline Trafton and Ron of Glenburn, Maine, James Rennebu Sr. and Vivian of Winter Haven, Florida, and Constance Middaugh of Tallahasse, Florida.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are siblings John Rennebu of Orange, California, Lorraine Kelley of Fredricksburg, Texas, and Ruth Ford of St. Louis, Missouri.
Numerous nephews and nieces have fond memories of her.
In accordance with her wishes her body has been donated to the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine at Biddeford, Maine. She later will be interred at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Bangor, Maine.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Teresa’s Church at Brewer, Maine at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22. Following the mass, friends and family are invited to the parish center for fellowship.
