PROSPECT HARBOR – Austin Dean Lowell, 50, died Sept. 24, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer with his son, Joshua, at his side. He was born Jan. 13, 1963, in Bar Harbor, the son of the late Bradley and Rebecca Lowell.
He attended Sumner High School prior to joining his father’s lobster fishing business. He also spent many years seining for herring. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. One year he took the third largest record for Moose in the state of Maine.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie of 28 years; his two children, Joshua of Prospect Harbor, and Brittany; his two grandchildren, Alexa and Rebecca of Natick, Mass.; grandmother, Elaine Lowell of Prospect Harbor; his sister, Pauline and husband, Gary Trader, of Merrimack, N.H.; a brother, Brad Jr., of Natick, Mass.; sister, Terri and husband, Haven Ross Jr., of Prospect Harbor; mother-in-law, Ann Noiles of Birch Harbor; sister-in-law, Michelle and husband, Craig Pinkham, of Birch Harbor; sister-in-law, Teresa and husband, Mike Picard, of Birch Harbor; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
At Austin’s request, there will be a gathering of family and friends 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Knights of Pythias hall, Route 1, Gouldsboro, in celebration of his life. Austin will be sadly missed by family and many close friends.
