BANGOR AND DREW PLT. – Janice E. (Crawford) Wilcox, 70, wife of Erwin Wilcox, died October 5, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born November 2, 1942, in Drew Plt., the daughter of Percy W. and Delorosa (Cottle) Crawford.
Janice was a graduate of Wytopitlock High School. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed pets, was a great cook and loved country music. She did volunteer work with the Bangor and Bar Harbor Chambers of Commerce, the Jaycees and the Big Sister/Big Brother Program. Her professional career was with National Car Rental at Bangor International Airport, and she was manager for Bar Harbor Airlines and Northwest Airlines for many years.
In addition to her husband, Erwin, she is survived by three children, Marvin S. Putnam and Kerith Putnam of Los Angeles, California, Michael A. Putnam and Annette Putnam of San Francisco, California and Melanie P. Kitchen and Stephen L. Kitchen of Gorham; grandchildren, Elias C. Putnam and Lucy E. Putnam of Los Angeles; Alexis K. Putnam and Zoe Z. Putnam of San Francisco; and Evelyn A. Kitchen, Iris L. Kitchen and Ella K. Kitchen, all of Gorham; a sister, Joan M. (Crawford) Hanington of Millinocket and a brother, Robin A. Crawford and Lois of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Harry J. Crawford and Dale F. Crawford, a nephew, Harry J. Crawford, Jr., and a very dear cousin, Victoria Potter.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, at Drew Cemetery with the Rev. Maurice Gray officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to National Stroke Association, 9707 E.
